A Message from the CEO

Dear CGM eMDs customers,

It has been a whirlwind first few weeks as the new CEO of CGM US. One of the highlights was a tour of several CGM eMDs practices with members of my executive team. We can't say thank you enough to the physicians and staff who so graciously hosted us. We loved seeing how successful you are, and how passionate you are about your practices, your patients, and CGM eMDs!

We reaffirmed so many things including:

  • CGM eMDs users love their system. There are clearly reasons why physicians enjoy the ease of documentation, powerful billing, and more.

  • But you let us know that we can improve too. And I am delighted to let you know that we are investing more in your software. We are expanding the development, services, and support teams to help accelerate what we are planning. For example, we let you know in last month's newsletter about the pending CGM AMBI ambient AI documentation capability UDS+ enhancements. On top of that the roadmap includes a significant new set of tools centered around patient engagement including paperless intake and portal upgrades.

  • And yes, we are working very hard to optimize the system, performance, and improving existing features. The original founder of the software, Dr. David Winn always said "speed is the number 1 feature". We are believers in this and continuing to advance the platform.

That is why I directed this additional focus. I want to ensure your CGM eMDs remains a recognized top EHR and practice management system. Your technology is core to your operations and must continue to support your focus: patient care.

Thank you for your trust in us.

Benedikt Brueckle

Doctors Corner

Starting January 1, CMS introduced two new G codes to reimburse atherosclerotic cardiovascular disease (ASCVD) risk assessment and management services. Dr. Jeffrey Hyman, Chief Medical Officer at CompuGroup Medical, talked about G0537 last month.

I hope that you have all started using the new code, G0537, that was outlined in our last newsletter. This code is to be performed once a year, and we suggest you use it during your wellness exams with the patient.

This code brings a clinical quality aspect to your practice, for work that you are already doing, and improves patient outcomes.

I now want to introduce you to the MONTHLY follow up code.

The ASCVD risk management code, G0538, which is defined as “Atherosclerotic Cardiovascular Disease risk management services:" It has the following required elements:

  1. Patient is without a current diagnosis of ASCVD but can have any chronic ongoing diagnosis like essential hypertension and or diabetes or hypercholesterolemia.
  2. The ASCVD risk management code will be billable when performed on a patient that was found to have intermediate, medium or high risk of cardiovascular disease over the next 10 years per the ASCVD risk assessment. That means a score of 7.5% or greater was gathered via the G0537.
Dr. Jeffrey Hyman, Chief Medical Officer
The risk management services should address the “ABCs” of cardiovascular risk reduction, referring to aspirin (along with statins and other appropriate medications), blood pressure control, cholesterol control and smoking cessation. Specifically, the ASCVD risk management services include:
  • Promoting receipt of preventive services (including tobacco cessation counseling, diabetes screening, diabetes self-management training)

  • Medication management (including aspirin or statins to maintain or decrease risk of cardiovascular disease)
ASCVD risk management services can be performed by a physician or a qualified health professional who may furnish evaluation and management services under Medicare. As risk management is not considered a preventative service, cost-sharing may apply. The G0538 code has been assigned a work RVU of 0.18.

Is your billing team short-staffed? ARIA can help with temps

It happens. You lose a staff member. But the work doesn't go away and your backlog (and AR) grows.

We can help. Our team offers "workforce augmentation" services. What is this? You can temporarily hire one of our team for a limited scope of work that you define. You can add someone to help with claims, payment posting, chasing your aging AR, and more while you fill the gap.

Contacting support and using the CGM PORTAL

Our team is dedicated to providing you the support you need. Once we receive your question/issue, a support ticket will be created, allowing you to monitor its progress through the CGM PORTAL and receive email updates whenever your ticket is updated.

We work all requests by order of priority to ensure the most critical or urgent issues are dealt with first. Critical or Very High priority tickets are when all users are unable to access the software, when there is a patient safety issue, when there is a HIPAA violation, or when there is a 100% loss of revenue. These situations receive our immediate attention, so we ask if you are experiencing one of these issues, that you call our support team. Please call 877-564-4414, option 3, and select the CGM eMDs Technical Support option (1). That line is monitored 24 hours a day, 7 days a week for critical support. For non-critical requests, 877-564-4414 is available from 8AM to 8PM ET, Monday through Friday.

If the issue you are experiencing is not critical, we encourage you to submit it via our CGM PORTAL. The CGM PORTAL is available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week to submit, update and review your tickets. It is also a valuable resource to get updates on current announcements, notifications, and to view our knowledge base for common questions and issues. If you do not have any users currently utilizing the CGM PORTAL, please contact CGM support, letting us know who we should assign as your CGM PORTAL Super Admin. We will then proceed with granting that person access and can schedule some time with them to show them the main features of the portal.

Should you need to escalate an issue or ticket, we encourage you to refer to our knowledge base in the CGM PORTAL for the most recent escalation matrix by searching for “Support Escalation”.

We value your partnership and are here to support the success of you and your organization.

Exciting Update: Improved Support with Bomgar Jump Point Installation

We are committed to providing you with the best support experience possible. To achieve this, we are excited to announce the available implementation of a BeyondTrust (Bomgar) jump point on your system. This available feature will enhance our ability to assist you efficiently and effectively.

What is a Bomgar Jump Point?

Bomgar is the remote support tool you are likely already familiar with when you connect with our support team. A Bomgar jump point takes this a step further, allowing us to connect directly to your system without needing to request access each time. This feature will enable quicker and more responsive support.

Key Benefits of using the Bomgar Jump Point:

  • Improved Efficiency: Our support team will have quicker access to your system to troubleshoot issues right away, minimizing the time you spend waiting for assistance.

  • Faster Resolution: With immediate access, we can accelerate the resolution of your issues and reduce the need for scheduling support appointments—though we are always happy to set up appointments upon request.

  • Secure: Your security is our top priority. Bomgar provides secure access, ensuring that all support sessions are recorded.

By allowing us to install a Bomgar jump point, you’ll benefit from a significantly more streamlined support experience, resulting in faster resolutions and less disruption to your day-to-day operations.

If you’re interested in moving forward with this improved access or have any questions, please don’t hesitate to contact our support team via the CGM Portal or by calling 877-564-4414. For our portal users, you can also review this FAQ for more details on this solution and the next steps needed to implement. We’re here to assist you!

Thank you for your continued trust in us. We look forward to enhancing your support experience!
