The CompuGroup Medical (CGM) team donated a total of 200,000 euros to support the people affected by the devastating floods in Germany. A collection campaign among the employees brought in around 100,000 euros in donations, and the company subsequently doubled this amount. The entire sum will go to the donations account of the Ahrweiler district administration. In addition, numerous employees are volunteering to support the relief work in the affected locations.
"This disaster - which literally happened on our doorstep - deeply affects us all," emphasized Dr. Dirk Wössner, CEO of CompuGroup Medical. "At the same time, we are impressed by the great willingness to help in Germany and around the world. The dedicated help of our colleagues - whether through donations or as volunteers actively on site - also contributes to alleviating the suffering of the people affected."
For weeks, numerous CGM employees have been supporting the clean-up efforts in the affected regions on a voluntary basis or providing overnight accommodations for affected colleagues whose homes are no longer habitable due to the flood disaster. Since the northern part of Rhineland-Palatinate has been among the hardest hit by the destruction, several CGM employees have also been directly or indirectly affected by the devastation.
Medical practices and pharmacies that were damaged by the flood are being supported by the CompuGroup Medical team to quickly return to work and thus maintain medical care for the population during this difficult phase.
